Village of Montfort~ Pool
The Village of Montfort will be accepting applications for the 2021 season.
Head Lifeguards– Applicants must be 16 years old to apply and have Red Cross Lifeguard Certification prior to pool opening. WSI Certification is a plus. 35- 40 hours per week. Pay will start at $10.00 based upon experience.
Lifeguards– Applicants must be 15 years old to apply and have Red Cross Lifeguard Certification prior to pool opening. WSI Certification is a plus. Pay will start at $8.00 based upon experience.
Lifeguard Certification classes are held early spring. Travel arrangements will be made for those that need a ride to the classes. All certifications will be paid back to employee upon completion of the season. If interested but cannot afford the certification course, financial assistance is available.

OLD BANQUET TABLES TO GIVE AWAY
The Village has replaced the old banquet tables at the Community Room. If anyone is interested in one of the old tables please contact the Village Office 608-943-6917 to schedule a time to take a look.

TESTING ELECTRONIC VOTING EQUIPMENT
FOR THE FEBRUARY 16, 2021 SPRING PRIMARY ELECTION
According to Wis. Stats. 5.84 (1) Testing Equipment, the electronic voting equipment must be tested at a public meeting. The ICE – ImageCast Evolution electronic voting system, which utilizes automatic tabulating equipment, will be tested on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Village Office, 102 E. Park Street.
This test is open to the public.

Type E Notice for Absentee Voting
VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT
Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 10 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.
You must make a request for an absentee ballot in writing.
Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both. You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature. You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail, email or in person.
Making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail
The deadline for making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail is:
4:30 pm on the fifth day before the election, Thursday, February 11, 2021.
Note: Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.
Voting an absentee ballot in person
You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office or other specified location during the days and hours specified for casting an absentee ballot in person.

No in-person absentee voting may occur on the day before the election.
The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before Election Day to the proper polling place before the polls close on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Any ballots received after the polls close will not be counted.
No Snowmobiles, ATVs or Dirt Bikes in Parks
NO SNOWMOBILES, ATVS OR DIRT BIKES ARE NOT TO BE OPERATED IN THE VILLAGE PARKS. OFFENDERS WILL BE FINED.
The Village has noticed tracks in the parks including in and around the play equipment. To protect equipment and ground covering, no motorized vehicles are to be operated in the park with the exception of the Village maintenance equipment.
The Village also asks that residents are mindful of their neighbors and not operate on their property without permission.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the electors of the Village of Montfort, in the Counties of Grant and Iowa, State of Wisconsin, that a Village Caucus for said Village will be held at the Montfort Community Building Auditorium on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 5:45 p.m. to nominate candidates for terms to for Village President and Village Trustees to be voted for at the Village Election to be held on the first Tuesday in April of 2021.
TERMS TO BE NOMINATED:
The Village President position for 2-year term. The current Village President, James Schmitz term is to expire April 20, 2021.
Three Board of Trustee positions for 2-year terms. The following board member terms are to expire April 20, 2021. Patrick Raimer, Patty Koestler and Chuck Piper.

Pool Manager– This position is in charge of planning, coordinating, directing and supervising personnel and the daily activities of the Montfort Pool. Up to 40 hours per week. Pay to be determined upon level of experience.
Requirements: Applicant must be at least 18 years of age to apply. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, effective communication ability and knowledge of swimming pool etiquette and safety rules. Must possess or have ability to attain Red Cross Lifeguard and WSI Certifications prior to pool opening.
